Does anyone know why Guyana is missing from the list and on what basis? The Dutch were responsible for the presence of slaves in what is now Guyana before the British. It was not a peripheral presence. It was long enough to be evidenced by a number of placenames like Werk-en-Rust, Nooitgedacht, and Stabroek. The last speakers of Berbice Dutch and Pomeroon Dutch died only within the last 10 years. Please check here for a better history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berbice_Creole_Dutch . The 1763 rebellion was fought against the Dutch , not the British. The Dutch have material partial responsibility for slavery in what became British Guiana and now Guyana. I still remember my granmother speaking about guilders.
